See Dick and Jane’s Garbage

Posted on

This is one of the first things I decoupaged. I had a plain white wastepaper basket from Ikea and used very large images from a Dick and Jane calendar. I was making this for our baby’s room and was thrilled with the outcome-vintagey, funny, particularly the picture of Sally pushing a cat in what appears to be a giant pair of white underpants. I have another one of these plain garbage cans just waiting to be made into something for the new baby’s room, but have no idea what type images I’ll use. I like to fancy that one could purchase this in a chic little children’s store for ten times what it cost me to make it. img_0173.jpgimg_0172.jpg

  1. Sarah I think you are right! This is fabulous. You should go see the lady at “Butterflies&Bullfrogs” and “Honeypies”. She owns both stores. Maybe she would like some very cool wastebaskets to sell.
