Mad Photo Fun + More Peonies

Posted on

Last week our friends came over for a homemade Hawaiian pizza-pictionary-admire the kids-take tons of pictures of peonies evening.  They were suitably appreciative of the peonies and the garden and recent addition to our “old fashioned childhood” yard (the rope ladder and rings we hung from our big tree.) They brought their super duper fancy cameras and let me use one of them.  Oh my gosh. It was so macro-tastic.  I really enjoyed the manual focus and had a lot of fun with it.  You can look here to see all of their pictures (including the kids on the tree, one of me and Tabby that I just love, and numerous lovely chicken and peony pics.) Here are some photos that I took, though:

I stepped into the garden to take some photos of the pea blossoms.

Would you believe 2 days later I went back into the garden and saw that the vines were loaded with peapods?!! Did I just not see them before or did they literally all grow in two days?

And, a final note on the peonies.  It rained a ton a couple days ago and they flopped over 😦 But they are smelling heavenly and I’m also enjoying cutting them and bringing them inside.

And, here are other peony pics, but taken with my camera earlier in the day:

  1. I know I said this on Saturday but it bears repeating — your photos are stunning! I can’t possibly pick a favorite.

Also, I adore your new blog banner!

  2. Thank you! I did the post and then was madly updating the header. I’m glad you noticed! I wish I could change the font of the header title. Why is that not possible?
