And something for me

Posted on

I enjoyed making mom’s needlebook so much I thought I’d make one for myself.  And with all my “required” sewing projects finished, it was a pleasure the day after Christmas to just start doodling a design for myself while we all watched a movie in front of the fire.  I was thinking a tree with leaves and flowers and maybe a bird, and this is what I came up with.

I’m especially pleased with the falling petals.

and the bird’s nest

I’m going to stitch around the border for added durability and also sew in the pages, but I think I’m done with the design.  (We’ll see-I may add some tufts of grass, or a little birdie on the ground or in the sky.)
