Give Thanks

Posted on

I’ve been doing a fair amount of sewing this past week–a set of matching Christmas aprons, and a pillowcase for a dog bed. Yesterday I was able to make something for myself-a Thanksgiving banner.

For each letter I cut out two triangles of fabric ( I made a paper template). I kept the pieces together and stitched wrong side to wrong side, then pinked all the edges.

For the letters I used heat and bond.  I figure it’s just going to be hanging up and not washed, so it didn’t need extra stitching on of the letters.

My favorite part is the triangle that is the space between the words–I layered up a bunch of fabrics and made a turkey!

I’m looking forward to hanging this up every November-cheerful, autumnal, and a reminder to give thanks for all that we have!

  1. both projects look great. You are so good at picking out co ordinating fabrics. I like your banner too.
