Splish, Splash

Posted on

Yesterday the ducks had their first swim in a deeper pool.  I had them outside in their outdoor playpen and I put in a deeper dish of water (the dog’s dish.) I picked one up and dropped it in.  At first I thought it was drowning (mind you, it’s deeper than the plate, but they could still stand) given all the splashing and the fact that it was completely underwater. Then I realized the duck was loving it and going under water on purpose. He rustled his baby wings under water, kept ducking his head underneath, and just altogether loving it. You can see from how bubbly the water is just how much he was churning it up. Today it’s going up to 72 and I’ll definitely take them out again for some fresh air and swimming.  And this time I’ll take a little video too.
